Mclintech 5-in-1 Tire Gauge and Emergency Tool

Today I am reviewing this  5-in-1 Tire Gauge and Emergency Tool from Mclintech

This tool is made out of a very rigid plastic so it appears to be durable. You need to insert a AAA battery for the lights but the battery for the display comes pre-installed. It has a tire gauge that gives you a digital readout of the amount of air pressure in your tire. It also has a seatbelt cutter to cut yourself free in case your belt gets jammed in an accident, an emergency hammer to break the windows if necessary to escape, a red emergency signaling light and a bright flashlight. This is an essential tool that should be in every vehicle's glove box.

I had a couple issues with the first unit I received. I used the new Eco-Advanced batteries and the lights didn't want to function at all with those batteries. We changed to another type of regular battery and that seemed to fix that issue. However, and I think this one is a biggie, the emergency hammer wouldn't release from the tools handle when the unlock button was engaged. In an emergency, that could be a big problem. I have seen a few other reviews where the buyer experienced that same malfunction with the hammer. After I contacted the seller (twice) they offered to send me a free replacement. With the second unit I received, the hammer did function but it took some effort to disengage the button. If they would fix this issue, then this would be a 5 star worthy tool. I have a larger emergency hammer that I will continue to keep in my glovebox along with this tool so I don't have to rely on a feature that may or may not function correctly in an emergency situation.
