 I recently lost my Father to a stroke due to hypertension so I know how serious this condition can be. I've have always had issues with severe hypertension and I try to keep a close watch on what my blood pressure is doing. I take medications to control my blood pressure but there are times when I feel like maybe it might be higher than it should be so I like to be able to check it for my own peace of mind. I received this Santamedical Wrist Digital Blood pressure Monitor to review. I like that this is a wrist monitor as opposed to an arm cuff so it is very small and more convenient to use. It comes with a hard protective carry case which makes it super portable. I can throw it in my bag and take it with me when I'm on the go.

My niece (who is an ER nurse) checked the accuracy of this wrist monitor with a standard Sphygmomanometer that she uses and the results were almost identical. Please remember that with a wrist cuff, you need to raise your wrist so that it is level with your heart to get an accurate reading. The display is large and very easy to read. The wrist monitor uses 2 AAA batteries which comes included with the monitor and case.

It also comes with a very detailed instruction booklet so make sure to read through it before you get started. There is a chart inside the booklet that lets you compare your blood pressure readings against the World Health Organizations (WHO) globally accepted standards for the assessment of high or low blood pressures. The wrist monitor allows you to track up to 60 total measurements in memory plus an average of the last 3 stored measurements so you can share them with your doctor for reference. It will also track your heart rate so that it a nice added feature to this monitor. The wrist cuff is comfortable and the cuff circumference is approximately 12.5-21cm. This quality monitor offers users a convenient way to take a quick and easy blood pressure reading. My husband and I both use this daily as a way to monitor our blood pressure levels and have been pleased with it.
